U2, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake to perform opening week of Fallon's Tonight Show
MUMBAI: Jimmy Fallon will be filling in some big shoes when takes over as host of 'The Tonight Show' on 17 February. And to make sure he kicks things off on the right note, his first week will feature a number of impressive musical guests. The show has not only released the list of artistes for the first full week, but also non music guests.
Irish rockers U2 will open Fallon's premier episode on Monday 17 February, while actor/ singer Will Smith will serve as his first guest. On Tuesday pop superstar Lady Gaga will perform, and Fallon will be joined by actors Kristen Wiig and Jerry Seinfield. Country singer Tim McGraw is set to perform the following day and the episode will also feature Bradley Cooper. Performing on Thursday will be Canadian rock band Arcade Fire. The episode will also include First Lady Michelle Obama and actor Will Ferrell.
Closing Fallon's first week as host of 'The Tonight Show' will be his close friend and pop singer Justin Timberlake, on Friday. Timberlake will double as the show's musical performer and guest.
After hosting 969 episodes of 'Late Night', Fallon wrapped up the show with a cover of Bob Dylan's 'On a Night Like This' last Friday. His new endeavour 'The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon' (previously hosted by Jay Leno), will air at midnight in its first week, but will settle into its usual timeslot of 11:35 pm from Friday 21 February.
