MUMBAI: Yamaha Music, a leader in musical instruments, Pro Audio and Visual Equipment organized sixth edition of Teens Rock - The Battle of Bands 2019. In this battle academic school bands from various cities including Delhi, Gurgaon, Bengaluru, Kochi, Kolkata, Indore, Lucknow, Chandigarh, and Jaipur participated to win the ultimate title.
‘Teens Rock- the Battle of Bands’ is an initiative by Yamaha Music, to promote music amongst students from Academic Schools. The idea is to provide a platform for teenagers to showcase their talent and interest in the field of music which often goes unnoticed.
Speaking at the event, Rehan Siddiqui, Assistant General Manager (Musical Instruments) Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Music India said, “Supporting music education in a meaningful way is what Yamaha stands for wholeheartedly, and the annual Teen’s Rock event has helped us achieve that mission over the years The Battle of Bands allows Yamaha to inspire thousands of students, potential music-makers of our country, and support them in achieving amazing heights of musicality and creativity through the musical event, added Siddiqui.
Besides thousands of live spectators, “Teens Rock 6” held at Forum Shanti Niketan Mall, Bengaluru attracted more than 112 participants, representing over 14 high school bands from more than 14 cities.The participating bands competed in preliminary auditions, with each band vying to become one of the top 14 bands to advance to the Grand finale.
Their performances were judged by a panel of nationally acclaimed musicians; Gino Banks, Gulraj Singh and Rhythm Shaw, renowned for their versatile music.
This competition is synonymous for its spectacular music and creative pageantry. Founded in 2008, Yamaha Music India Pvt. Ltd. has made a name for itself in the list of top manufacturers of Musical Instrument, pro audio and; audio visual equipment.
The winner of the Grand Finale Don Bosco School, Kolkata baggedawards worth INR 2, 40,000 sponsored by Yamaha. The Assam Valley School, Guwahati took away the second Prize worth INR 1, 60,000 while The TOC H Public School, Kochi bagged the Third Prize worth INR 94,000.
