Grass Root Grammy Award nominee Salil Bhatt, creator of the Satvik Veena and winner of prestigious SaMaPa Yuva Ratan Samman 2013 created magic with his performance at the 15- day SaMaPa Aalap Festival 2014.

Music maestro Abhay Rustum Sopori asked the young students to adopt music in their daily curriculum. He asked the students to explore the world with their creative and new ideas and contribute to the building of the State and the country.

The concert was attended by over 700 students and music lovers at the Lawrence Public School, Sidhra.The young children of the school presented a Saraswati Vandana and a group song.

Salil Bhatt, son and disciple of the legendary slide player Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, commenced his recital with brief Aalap- Jod and compositions in Vilambit and Drutlaya Teentaal in Raga Vachaspati. He also presented a Dhun in Raga Desh. He was accompanied on Tabla by Kaushik Konwar. Bhatt also had a long interaction session with the students on music, his created instrument and other topics on music. The audience highly appreciated the recital and was fascinated with the techniques, tempo and the dynamic style of his rendition.

SAF 2014 which is reaching its concluding phase will now feature various concerts in Jammu apart from presentations in regions like Poonch and Udampur.
