TuneCore as a boon to independent musicians. Please lay down your thoughts on this.

TuneCore Music Distribution services help artists, labels and managers sell their music through Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, JioSaavn, Hungama, Amazon Music and more than 150 download and streaming stores worldwide. In addition, the TuneCore Artist Services portal offers a suite of tools and services that enable artists to promote their craft, connect with fans, and get their music heard. When an Independent Artist decides to put her music out in the world, it’s important for her to think like an entrepreneur. The release now needs to be marketed and delivered to listeners. Because of the way the industry has evolved, support for them to independently optimize visibility and distribution becomes imperative.

At TuneCore, Artists have always been, and will always be, our sole and exclusive focus of attention. They’re provided with a state-of-the-art artist dashboard that allows them to track their Digital Music sales. We offer Facebook, Instagram and YouTube Monetization services. We facilitate world class customer service and conversations with real people whose only job it is to solve your distribution problems. We bring you industry advice and education from folks who know what they’re talking about. TuneCore artists in India will get fifty percent off the regular distribution costs with singles available for Rs 499 and 1st year distribution for albums available for Rs 1499.

How are you going to make advancements on TuneCore?

At Believe and TuneCore, we are firm believers and supporters of local, homegrown talent. TuneCore has been serving local talent since 2006. When the need for a more localized tool was apparent, TuneCore began an in-depth study into the Indian music landscape. My role has been to bridge the company’s vision with on ground requirements. We now have a tool that is poised to take the Indian artist where they want to go. TuneCore is devoted to helping musicians become entrepreneurs who are in charge of their own careers.

How would TuneCore help build musicians and earn revenue?

Our platform is for everyone - right from a first time musician, to someone who just wants to experiment with music, to the established artists. With a country like ours, the talent is immense, diverse and dispersed. Artists emerge from bustling cities, small towns and remote villages. We want to provide this talent with the means to reach audiences. And to add to that, there are no restrictions on numbers- some put out an EP a quarter, others upload multiple singles a week. And asides from the 100% distribution revenue, we also offer YouTube Monetization and Facebook & Instagram monetization.

Future plans of TuneCore - partnerships that you are looking for in the future?

Our mission is to best serve artists at all stages of their careers with respect and expertise, fairness and transparency. Our evolution this far and the future of our business will continue to grow. We seek out partners who have the same core values. In the short time since the TuneCore India launch, we’re already working with partners like Furtados Music, Global Music Institute, IPRS, Rolling Stone, RSJLive, True School of Music, Furtados School of Music, Maed In India and TAFMA to name a few. We hope to continue this work and collaboration with partners, giving the best experience.
