MUMBAI: Popstar Rihanna is going from 'Unapologetic' to kid-friendly, if reports about her upcoming project turn out to be true. The Barbadian singer, who will be featured in the animated movie 'Home', as the voice of the main character- Gratuity 'Tip' Tucci, will also provide the film's music.
According to reports, the 'Diamonds' singer is currently at work on a concept album for the upcoming movie. The film, which will be in 3D, is based on the children's book 'The True Meaning Smekday' by author Adam Rex. 'Home' will be directed by Tim Johnson, who also headed other animated movies including 'Over the Hedge', 'Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas' and 'Antz'.
'Home' will hit theatres on 26 November this year. The release date for the album has not yet been revealed. The 'What Now' singer's last album 'Unapologetic' that was released in 2012, did exceptionally well, even earning her a Grammy award for Best Urban Contemporary album.
Although she has not released any new material since 'Unapologetic', Rihanna has featured on other artists' tracks like 'The Monster' with Eminem and 'Can't Remember to Forget You' with Shakira.
Earlier in the year, there were reports that the singer has begun planning her eighth studio album, but it is not yet known whether it will be the soundtrack to 'Home' or a follow-up to her 2012 release.
