MUMBAI: If you've been lucky enough to get a new gadget for Christmas you might need some help getting started. Once you've opened the box and set up the phone you might be thinking of some new apps to download and have some fun with.
There are so many apps out there that you may feel a little overwhelmed. Social media, games, shopping, fitness, there are just so many to choose from. But worry not, as we are here to help. We've handily put together a list of the must-have apps to download this Christmas.
1 - CoventryLive
We had to start with this one really, didn't we? Our app gives you the very latest news from Coventry, Nuneaton and Warwickshire. It covers news, business, sport, what's on and more. It is completely customisable, allowing you to tailor what news you consume and when. You can even follow your favourite sports team to keep you informed of the latest news on your favourite club. The CoventryLive app is the best way to follow breaking news from Coventry and Warwickshire, including live blogs, live video and traffic and travel.
2 - NHS Track and Trace
Coronavirus has turned our world upside down this year. It is really important that if you are heading out, you use the NHS Track and Trace app wherever you go. It gives you automatic updates if you have been exposed to someone who has the virus, so you can self-isolate. If you test positive, you can also input that into the app and it will anonymously tell others who have come into contact with you.
3 - Spotify
Spotify is one of the most popular music apps. You can use it for free, or pay a monthly fee and have access to extra benefits, such as no adds, or downloading playlists. Accounts are available for students and families, which even save you money. Time to listen to some of those Christmas classics... 'snow is falling, all around me...'
4 - Depop
If you have received any money for Christmas and are a fan of a bargain, this may be the app for you. Depop is a site where people can sell second hand items, a little bit like eBay. However rather than bidding for an item, someone lists them with a set price. You can purchase things, or even sell things. It's also much better for the environment, as fashion items are being re-used.
5 - ElfYourself
This app is by far the most festive on the list. It allows you and your friends to become dancing elves. Sounds great doesn't it. The app is really easy to use and great fun to have with family and friends.
