Caroline International and Turnstile Music inks a deal

MUMBAI: Universal's artist and label services division Caroline International announced a partnership with UK's independent label Turnstile Music. This international agreement will allow Caroline to distribute all Turnstile releases outside of North America and provide a variety of label services for each project.

Turnstile Music is home to artistes like Christopher Owens, Perfume Genius, Gruff Rhys, Los Campesinos! and Cate Le Bon. Cardiff based Turnstile was established in 2010 by Alun Llwyd and Kevin Tame.

Llwyd and Tame said, "We are proud to be joining forces with Caroline and are already impressed by the energy, enthusiasm and creativity they have shown towards the records scheduled for this year. We are excited about what we can achieve with their new team both on a domestic and international level.”

The label will be holding its first ever SXSW showcase on 13 March at St. David's Historic Sanctuary in Austin with performances by Christopher Owens, Gruff Rhys, Perfume Genius, Cate Le Bon, Sea Lion and H Hawkline.

Formed in 2013, Caroline International delivers service to independent labels and artistes in every market and region of the world.

Caroline International MD Michael Roe and joint MD and head of Music Jim Chancellor said, "That Alun and Kevin have decided to put their faith in Caroline is a testament to the great team we're building here. We love the artists that Alun and Kevin have collected together under what is a really creative label. We're very much looking forward to helping Turnstile establish their artists on an international stage."

Recently, Caroline agreed a new international partnership with top independent label Glassnote. The releases through Caroline International in 2014 include new recordings from Ben Watt, St Vincent, Kaiser Chiefs, 50 Cent, Glass Animals and Brody Dalle.
