MUMBAI: Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist 'Flea' will be trading in his guitar for a pen soon. According to reports, the rocker, (born Michael Balzary) will be writing his very own memoir. Flea who is known for his crazed shirtless antics on stage has apparently signed a book deal with Grand Central Publishing, which is part of Hachette Book Group.

On Tuesday, Grand Central announced that his book, which does not have a title as yet, will give fans an insight into the 51 year old's "intense and dynamic life". The statement released cites the bassist as regarding books "sacred" and mentions that they helped shape his life.

The statement also revealed that the book will detail the last 30 years of his life, including his rebellious life on LA streets and the founding of Red Hot Chili Peppers alongside lead singer Anthony Kiedis, and two of his other high school friends. The book will also tell of Flea's complex friendship with Kiedis and his various experiences with hard drugs.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of the most famous rock bands in the world. The band has sold over 80 million records worldwide, and in 2012 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
