Agnee composes 'Yeh Hai Bakrapur' soundtrack

MUMBAI: Indian rock band Agnee has composed the soundtrack for 'Yeh Hai Bakrapur', a small budget political satire directed by Janaki Vishwanathan.

The first song released was 'Pair Anaadi', a last minute addition to the original 2-song soundtrack. "We were only supposed to do two songs for the film. But we felt the need for a third song," said K Mohan, lead vocalist with Agnee, shortly after its release on 10 April, when the first round of voting took place in the country.

The film has two more songs, one of which is a romantic track called 'Pyaar Main Bakra' which will be released this week, around the same time as the official music launch. The other song, titled 'Om Shaanti Om' will be released close to the release of the film. The vocals on 'Pyaar Main Baakra' are by K Mohan, while 'Om Shaanti Om' is sung by Keerthi Sagathia and penned by Panchhi Jalonvi.

The song 'Pair Anaadi' had renowned lyricist Abbas Tyrewala who penned the lyrics. The song also features MTV Roadies host Raghu Ram on vocals along with Indian Ocean's vocalists Rahul Ram and Amit Kilam and K Mohan from Agnee.

Mohan is known to do selective off-beat tracks like 'Lamha Yeh Jaayega Kahan' from the film 'Dil Dosti Etc.', 'Naav' from 'Udaan' with some of his latest songs like 'Barbaadi' from 'Aurangzeb', 'Shikayatein' from 'Lootera', 'Kinare' from 'Queen' and 'Chaandaniya' from '2 States'.

The band's discography includes theme tracks for MTV reality shows like Roadies and Splitsvilla. They launched their debut self titled album in May 2007.
