Goldspot's Siddhartha Khosla goes live for Pepsi MTV Indies
MUMBAI: Pepsi MTV Indies managed to get American indie band Goldspot's Siddhartha Khosla to play live from America on Wednesday for India fans.
On Wednesday 23 April, the 'Friday' singer hosted a first of its kind- desk gig for his fans. Although it was supposed to be a one and a half hour gig, it went on for over three hours. During the time, Khosla played a number of tracks including 'Rewind', 'Tale of Fish', 'Resident Alien', 'Float On', 'Timebomb', 'Miss Johnson', 'Borderline', 'Evergreen Cassette' and 'Ina Mina Dika'.
Khosla kept things interesting during the three plus hours by adding effects to his appearance while he stayed online. He added that this was the first time he played for that long at a stretch. Fans started posting comments and their wish-list which was addressed by Khosla. He even dedicated the track 'Ina Mina Dika' to his cousins in India. However, he did not play tracks like 'It's getting old' because he felt that it would not be right as it needs beats and to honour his drummer (without him it would not be right).
He spoke about his 2013 album 'Aerogramme' and the journey about writing the track. He also ensured fans that he would be coming to India. Khosla also said that this year was the most beautiful year for him, as he was called to perform at White House for Diwali.
The desk gig also had a telephonic call to Goldspot's manager Steve who confirmed that they were working towards bringing Goldspot to a music festival in India this fall.
