Musicians share their favourite monsoon songs and past-times
MUMBAI: After months of scorching heat, the rains have finally set in, bringing with it joy and relief, not to mention water puddles and a little bit of traffic. Like everyone else, a number of musicians are soaking up the rains, and have shared with Radioandmusic.com their favourite songs for the season and how they spend their time while it pours outside.
Sonu Nigam: The monsoon is the best time to actually munch on something as oily as 'pakoda' while drinking a cup masala chai. Also this is the time to be with your loved ones. My favorite song during this time is 'Megha re Megha re' sung by Suresh Wadkarji.
Sachin Sanghvi: Monsoon is the time for creating something new. I usually spend my time sitting by the window sipping hot coffee. I have a couple of favourite songs; one of them is 'Tip Tip Barsa Pani' and another is 'Rimjhim Gire Sawan'.
Rahul Vaidya: Monsoon reminds me of the song 'Aaj Kal Paav Zameen Par Nahi Padte'. When it is raining I usually just lie down and watch TV and just do nothing.
Arko Pravoo Mukherjee: Normally when it rains we find everything in turmoil. Traffic jams are pretty common, but when I am at home I love jamming with my friends. My favourite song is 'Sun Sun Sun Sarsaat Ki Dhun' from the film 'Sir'.
Palak Muchhal: Normally when it rains and I am working it gets a little irritating. Ideally on a rainy day, I ask mom to make 'bread pakoda' with coffee. My favourite song with the theme of monsoon is 'Tum Hi Ho'.
