Simon Cowell targeted on Twitter by Gaza protestors

MUMBAI: Simon Cowell has not earned himself a lot of fans over the years with his intense criticism on shows like 'American Idol' and the 'X Factor'. He has been booed and ridiculed quite a bit in the past. However, the latest backlash he received on Twitter is perhaps the worst he has been subjected to yet.

The music mogul has been targeted with gruesome images of dead Palestine children by a number of Twitter users, who are protesting the ongoing Gaza conflict. The protestors are, apparently, accusing Cowell of helping Israel in its invasion of Palestine.

The reactions have come after it was found that the 'X Factor UK' judge made a ?90,000 donation to Friends of the Israel Defence Forces (FIDF) last year at a fundraiser. According to reports, the event was organised by Haim Saban, the billionaire TV tycoon in Beverly Hills. The dinner is said to have been attended by over 1000 supporters, including singer/ songwriter Lionel Ritchie, raising over $12 million for the FIDF.

A number of Twitter users have posted the grisly pictures to Cowell's Twitter account, many with the caption “You have blood on ur hands" (sic). Some users even suggested he was taking orders from his “masters in Tel Aviv" while others accused him of being a part of a 'Zionist' scheme.

Some Twitter users have called out the 54 year old on account of his Jeweish roots. Cowell's girlfriend, and mother of his child- Lauren Silverman is Jewish, and his father- Eric, was also from a Jewish family.
