Oye FM takes Bollywood to Border

MUMBAI: Oye FM Sabse Filmi radio station reached out to our BSF soldiers under the 'Bollywood to Border' initiative. As a tribute to the brave, messages of gratitude from the biggest movie stars were played. The on air promotions with the stars, was followed by a huge ground event at Wagah Border which featured, music performances by Ankit Tiwari and Kailash Kher.

The biggest stars from Bollywood had sent their messages for the soldiers. The stars who had sent tribute messages include Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, John Abraham, Emran Hashmi, Sonakshi Sinha, Nawazudin Siddiqui, Mahesh Bhatt, Rajeev Khandelwal, Kay Kay Menon, Richa Chadha, Salim Sulaiman and Sushant Singh Rajput. These messages were played and their personalized written notes for the BSF soldiers displayed at Wagah border. In attendance were BSF soldiers, Oye! FM listeners and thousands of visitors who had thronged to witness the famous Beating the Retreat ceremony at the border.

The RJs from Oye! FM, RJ Nitin Kakkar from Mumbai, RJ Piyush from New Delhi and RJ Heer from Amritsar set the tone for the evening by entertaining the crowd in the finale event of 'Bollywood to Border'. While the event was picking pace the ceremony paused momentarily to allow the iconic 'Sada-e-Sarhad' Bus crossing over from India to Pakistan, which added to the excitement of the crowd. Once the bus crossed over to the other side, poetry, music and entertainment took over and kept spirits high with IG BSF Punjab Frontier Ashok Kumar and DIG M F Farooqi from BSF in attendance along with some eminent personalities.

The high point of the evening was musical performances by sensational Ankit Tiwari and soulful Kailash Kher. Visitors on the Pakistan side were also witnessed swaying to the performance on Indian side. Both the singers thanked the soldiers and entertained the crowds by singing a few of their hit songs.

The celebrations around 'Bollywood to Border' was brought to a close with the 'beating the retreat' ceremony at Wagah Border. Oye! 104.8 FM carried back BSF soldiers' messages to the Bollywood stars and citizens of India to complete the loop.

In true spirit this was 'Heroes ka salaam...asli heroes ke naam' done in a style which was truly 'Sabse Filmi'.
