Keith Urban postpones Washington concert following death of Nicole Kidman's father
MUMBAI: Country rocker Keith Urban has postponed his concert at the Washington State Fair after his actress wife Nicole Kidman's father met with a fatal accident. The 'Somewhere in My Car' singer was scheduled to perform in Puyallup on Saturday, 13 September 2014, but announced via his official Twitter account that the show would be rescheduled for 19 September 2015.
The singer/ songwriter's website stated that the show was called off due to a death in the family. However, ticket holders were asked to keep the tickets if they wanted to attend the show next year. The website also stated that they will be entitled to the same seats books for this year's concert. Refunds are also being made available to those who do not want to attend next year's concert.
On Thursday, Urban cancelled another performance that was to be held for a charity event when he learnt of Kidman's father's sudden death in Singapore. According to reports, the 46 year old singer was on his way to the show in California's Sherwood Country Club, but headed back to Nashville as soon as he found out about the tragedy.
The Washington State Fair, which started in 1900, is one of the biggest fairs in the world and goes on for 17 days, during which it sees performances by a number of music acts. This year, acts performing at the fair include Clay Walker, MKTO, Cody Simpson, Fall Out Boy, Florida Georgia Line, Toby Keith, Amy Grant and others.
