MUMBAI: Radio Indigo will move its studio to Bangalore based venue- Indigo Live Music Bar as part of a three day plan to celebrate Independence Day starting from 15 August. The essence of the ‘Independence day week-end at Indigo Live’ can be heard in the background of Radio Indigo.
The theme for 15 August is NEWS (North East West South) and will include DJs from each corner of the country, and will serve cuisines from different parts of the country. On the first day, it will be a dance music night with DJs like Vipul Angirish from North, Sanjay Datta from the East, Johnny D from the West, and DJ Vachan from the South. All four DJs will perform on one night.
On Saturday it will have two DJs playing- DJ Sahil (drum and bass) and DJ Varun (progressive house). On Sunday morning, there will be an Independence Day brunch with the same theme, for which cuisines from north, east, west and south will be put together. Friday’s event will start at 7 pm and go on till 1 am; on Saturday it will be from 8pm- 1am and on Sunday it will start at 12 noon and go on till 7 in the evening.
The shift from the radio studio will take place on Friday, and it will be followed by contests and on-air promotions.
Radio Indigo A&R and communications senior associate Trigam Mukherjee informed, “It is a great experience to have our studios shifted to a particular location, especially for live music. During the radio broadcast listeners can hear music in the background, so it will offer a live feel.”
When first designed, the section of the venue was planned in such a way that it could be used as a studio for Radio Indigo. The station will take feeds from the venue, and the flavour will be patriotic mixed with songs that they usually play on air.
According to Mukherjee, the integration has gone very well with brands, increasing the possibility of partnerships after Independence Day.
Indigo Live, on this special occasion, will offer a 30 per cent discount to personnel serving in the Armed Forces and to ex-service men.
