MUMBAI: BBC Radio Bristol has announced that it will start a brand new breakfast show from Monday, 1 September onwards. The show will take place on weekdays from 6.30 to 9 in the morning, and will be presented by Laura Rawlings and Steve LeFevre.
The show will be a mix of weather, travel and traffic, conversation, along with strong local journalism and debate regarding local issues that are known and of value to listeners. It will offer a fresh new sound, the radio station emphasised.
Speaking about the new show and its appointments, BBC Radio Bristol Editor Tom Pemberton said, "Laura and Steve are great company, and together are the perfect combination to listen to at Breakfast. They both have strong journalistic credentials and share a passion for life in the West Country. We think listeners are going to love hearing them talk about the issues that matter to everyone who lives and works in this part of the world."
LeFevre, who has worked with Rawlings before stated that he is delighted to be working with her again. "She's a terrific broadcaster and a great friend, and I look forward to must-listen programmes and a lot of fun between 6.30am and 9.00am."
Meanwhile, Rawlings added, "I have got the opportunity to present Breakfast on the radio station I grew up listening to – it's a real buzz. We will cover local news and sport but we are also going to have some fun and you'll see us out and about around the region more. The team at BBC Radio Bristol are fantastic, Steve's a good friend and a great broadcaster – and I can't wait to join the best radio Breakfast club, waking up Bristol and Bath."
