MUMBAI: Adarsh Gupta music business head of Saregama has put down his papers and has requested an early exit from the company. He is ending his four year relationship with the music label as music business head.
Gupta confirmed the development saying that he had been planning it for a while now. “I will take a break for a few weeks before making a decision about my future course of action,” Gupta told Radioandmusic.com.
He further added, “I am planning to explore new opportunities that are available.”
Prior to joining Saregama, which is considered one of the oldest label companies in India, he was with Times Music as COO. During his tenure, Times Music launched its Bollywood arm Junglee Music in 2007. He also held the position of deputy general manager (July 2000 to November 2002) where he was responsible for the entire sales, marketing and business development function for India and World markets.
Gupta has wide array of experience with FMCG products, Consumer Electronics and Entertainment (Music).
Saregama has not yet found a replacement for Gupta. In the last two years, the company has witnessed several members from the top level management end their relationship with the music label company.
