MUMBAI: MY FM concluded the 'Swachh Bharat' painting competition with school kids on Children’s Day. The initiative was aimed at bringing in awareness amongst the school kids for a clean India. The activity saw great response from students as they participated in the painting competition with great enthusiasm. In fact, Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat Smt. Anandiben Patel, Honorable Chief Minister of Punjab Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and Honorable Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje also took time out to see the paintings in their respective states and were very impressed with the talent on showcase.

The activity took place across all MY FM stations where the jury had a tough time selecting the winning paintings. The winners were given certificates and 12 paintings from each of the 17 cities were selected to be the cover of MY FM yearly calendar for their respective cities. Activity also involved parent’s active contribution and along with the kids both parents signed a pledge to keep their house, their school and their city clean, thus not only inculcating a habit but also making their parents a part in their journey of social awareness.

Commenting on the initiative, MY FM CEO Harrish M. Bhatia said, "The response to the initiative was very over whelming. In fact, the chief ministers of some of our states took out time to be part of this initiative and were so moved with some of the paintings done by the children. It further motivates us to continue organizing such socially engaging activities in future too."

MY FM national programming head Viplove Gupte added,"The very basic and core idea of Swachh Bharat has an appeal that evokes emotions in all of us to contribute to the cause. We picked the problem upside down and decided to reach out to children to prompt them to be model citizens and also bring in their parents to follow the model behavior of a responsible citizen. Thus the idea of painting competition came in to existence. The participation from students, their art work, their interpretation of Swachh Bharat and the innocence with which they beautifully captured the thought was an eye opener not only for judges for also for our RJs."
