MY FM bags The Laadli Media Award for 'BOL' Campaign

MUMBAI: MY FM RJ's Karthik and Mohit were felicitated with The Laadli Media and Advertising Awards for gender Sensitivity 2013-14 (Western Region) for their campaign BOL. The BOL campaign was aimed to bring about a change in the societal mindsets and make the women feel safe. The award highlights work done towards creating awareness for women empowerment. Looking at the rampant crime/violence against women, MY FM took an initiative called BOL which was an attempt to ensure the security for women in the city. The campaign saw RJ Kartik and RJ Mohit take voluntary arrest and confine themselves in jail to draw attention and create awareness. They vowed to come out when 94,300 people will pledge to stop violence against women.

Campaign activities commenced from signing the registration forms, oath ceremony and lighting up of candles to mark the commitment for security of women. The entire campaign was projected as an awareness drive against this evil and as a result 94,300 people came forward to take the oath. Famous names like Jyoti Khandelwal, Mayor, Jaipur & Princess Diya Kumari, MLA, BJP also came forward to take the pledge. The awareness created by the RJs encouraged schools & artists to give voluntary performances on women related issues. It was our decision to not back out till the entire city of Jaipur comes on the street to support us. The award is a testimony of what we managed to do with this.
