MUMBAI: MAX 2 plans to take its viewers on a musical journey through its initiative 'MAX 2 ka 4' which will run from 18th January – 7th February. Featuring some of the biggest Bollywood blockbusters through the decades, MAX 2 will showcase movies renowned for their iconic foot tapping songs which will keep viewers thoroughly entertained. To further promote 'MAX 2 Ka 4', the channel has roped in legendary music composer Bappi Lahiri who has magically captured the musical aura of the 70's and 80's. Just like the channel, Bappida has continued to stay 'evergreen' by continuing to stay relevant to current times.
Through the channel's initiative, viewers will get a chance to engage with the channel by SMSing back a code that will be flashed during the play out of 4 songs in the films to stand the chance to win television sets every day. Apart from being high on the popular barometer, these movies are also remembered for their iconic songs which have never lost their appeal and continue to be loved. Showcasing 21 iconic films during primetime slots, 'MAX2 Ka 4' will feature hits such as 'Qayamat se Qayamat Tak', 'Disco Dancer', 'Amar Akbar Anthony', '1942: A Love Story' and 'Waqt'.
Commenting on this unique initiative, Neeraj Vyas Sr. EVP & Business Head, MAX & MAX2 said, "'MAX 2 ka 4' is an attempt by the channel to rekindle the love for great Bollywood music of yesteryear movies. To popularize this unique concept we have signed on 'Bappi Lahiri', popularly referred to as the 'Disco King' of India who is widely recognized for composing vibrant and rhythmic music for films during the 1970s and 1980s. It is an honour to have this celebrated musician support our endeavor to bring back the love for good movies."
Talking about his association with the film festival and the channel, Bappi Lahiri said, "There are certain films which people enjoy watching over and over again and that is because of the songs of the film. Having composed the music for movies during that era, I can truly relate to the importance of bringing back timeless songs. I do hope viewers have as much fun in watching the movie marathon as I have had in associating with this unique concept."
