MUMBAI: Thailand based BEC-Tero Entertainment Public Co Ltd and US based Live Nation Entertainment, Inc., formed a new company called ‘Live Nation BEC-Tero Limited'. The company will promote international concerts in Thailand and will be headed by Neil Thompson, who has been working in the Thailand music industry for 22 years.
Live Nation BEC-Tero Limited will not just promote concerts and festival by international acts, but will also bring in regional acts like K-Pop and J-Pop artiste/bands/groups to the country.
The first few acts that will perform in Thailand under the newly formed company include Avenged Sevenfold (20 January), Michael Buble (24 January) and One Direction (14 March).
Thompson said, "I have worked with Live Nation for a number of years on tours such as Lady Gaga's ‘Born This Way Ball' tour and Sting's ‘Sacred Love' tour, and am now looking forward to working more closely with the full Live Nation team to bring more concerts to Thai music fans."
Live Nation president of international and emerging markets Alan Ridgeway said, "Thailand has been one of the strongest concert markets in Asia for a long time and it is a pleasure to welcome to the Live Nation Asia team Brian Marcar and Neil Thompson, the two people who have been responsible for putting Thailand on the touring map."
BEC-Tero director and shareholder Brian Marcar regarded the new partnership as "great growth opportunities."
Live Nation operates across 10 countries in Asia and now has offices in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. BEC-Tero Entertainment are not just promoters but also operate various divisions like TV, radio, music, sports, family events, theatre, exhibitions, online ticketing, online music retail and merchandising store.
