NEW DELHI: The total Advertisement Revenue in respect of 241 private FM radio stations was Rs.399.26 crore in the quarter ending September 2014 as against Rs.354.97 crore in the previous quarter ending June 2014.
In its performance report for the quarter ending September 2014, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India said apart from All India Radio, there are 243 private FM Radio stations in operation.
The reports have been prepared on the basis of the details of Advertisement Revenue submitted by the FM Radio service providers to TRAI. However, the details do not pertain to the same set of service providers / radio stations.
The total Advertisement Revenue for the quarter ending June, 2014, shown as Rs 435.52 crore has been changed to Rs 354.97 crore as M/s Udaya FM Private Limited has updated its reported Advertisement Revenue for the quarter ending June 2014.
As on 30 September 2014, 171 community radio stations out of 205 licenses issued were in operation.
The Ministry had received 1571 applications for CRS and issued 489 letters of intent. It had rejected 650 applications.
