MUMBAI: BMG announced its acquisition of Italian music records- Off Limits' publishing catalogue. Through the purchase, BMG will be able to hold rights of classic 90s dance pop hits. BMG has been going aggressive in Europe, making the Off Limits catalogue acquisition the company's third deal in a short period of time.

As per reports, BMG is acquiring Spain's Tiempo Real Entertainment, whose roster includes Antonio Orozco and Diego Martin, as part of a new wide-ranging relationship with Darlalata Entertainment.

On the other hand in France, the company acquired Tipping Music, a French company that owns the catalogue of French superstar Ben L'Oncle Soul, including his Number One hit, 'Soul Man', which was named French Song of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique in 2011. BMG will look after Soul's future works as well. Tipping Music is mainly known for its French urban pop hits from the past years.

BMG EVP Continental European Repertoire Fred Casimir said, “With BMG achieving market share leadership in Germany for the first time, 2014 was a real breakthrough year for the company in Continental Europe. Just over six years after we launched, these three deals show our ambition to grow right across the Continent is undiminished.”

Larry Pignagnoli is one of the pop maestros of Italy and songs like 'Saturday Night' are part of the fun-DNA of an entire generation. After the recent acquisitions of Strictly Rhythm, Skint/Loaded and Talpa Music, we are proud to add a number of international dance classics from Italy to BMG's growing dance/EDM repertoire.”

Founded by Alfredo Larry Pignagnoli, Off Limits Music and Publishing's first song was 'Saturday Night'. Whigfield, who sang the song, made her way into the Guinness Book of World Records as the first non-English artist to go straight to number one in the official UK singles chart.

Other tracks under the Off Limits banner that are well known include 'Satisfaction' (Benny Benassi), '2 Times' (Ann Lee) and 'Tu es Foutu' (In-Grid) amongst others.
