MUMBAI: Big FM's efforts to woo the Bangalore listeners appears to be working with the station inching slowly but surely past Radio Mirchi which has maintained its stranglehold over the other metros, according to RAM data for week 33.

The other equations remain largely unchanged.

Bangalore: Big FM upped its market share to 20.5 per cent, gaining 2.1 percentage points in the process. Mirchi which had held on to the number one position for seven weeks before slipping to second position, lost a further 1.5 points this week to end with a share of 15.4 per cent. Fever gained 0.1 points to end with a share of 15.3 per cent, coming a close third. AIR's FM Rainbow however lost 0.7 percentage points to take up the fourth place and end with a share of 12.1 per cent. Radio City, Red FM and Radio One followed.

Delhi: Mirchi consolidated its position in the capital, gaining one percentage point and ending with a share of 26 per cent. Fever kept its second position but lost 1.1 points, ending with a share of 19.3 per cent. AIR's FM Gold was third, having upped its share to 15.6 per cent, gained 1.6 points in the process. Radio City, Red FM and Radio One followed.

Kolkata: Big FM tried to catch up with leader Mirchi in Kolkata too, gaining 1.4 points and ending with a share of 17.6 per cent, but Mirchi retained its lead with a share of 18.6 per cent, losing 1.2 points during the week. Friends stayed at third place with a share of 14.3 per cent, despite having lost 0.5 percentage points during the week. Aamar FM gained one percentage point but had to stay content at fourth place with a share of 10.3 per cent.

Mumbai: All the top three stations gained listenership during the week but maintained their respective positions. Mirchi gained 1.1 percentage points to end with a share of 18.9 per cent, while Red FM gained 0.4 points to end with a share of 15 per cent. AIR's FM Gold gained 0.1 points to end with a share of 12.5 per cent. Radio City, Big FM, Fever and Radio One followed.
