SoundExchange appoints Mark Eisenberg and Jacqueline Peterson

MUMBAI: Non-profit performance rights organisation, SoundExchange, announced two major appointments in their executive team. The latest additions are Mark Eisenberg as the senior vice president, strategic initiatives; and Jacqueline Peterson as the communications’ senior vice president.

At SoundExchange, Eisenberg will identify and pursue new applications for SoundExchange's world-class distribution platform, foster relationships with existing and potential licensees, and work with record labels and recording artists to identify new ways SoundExchange can help the music community succeed. He said, "I look forward to forging new relationships that will further reinforce SoundExchange's role in today's evolving digital music industry."

Eisenberg was with MixRadio where he served as the global head of content acquisition and strategy. Before MixRadio, he was with Sony Music Entertainment for more than15 years as the EVP and head of business and legal affairs for the global digital business group. He has directed digital start-ups and established media companies in his professional career.

In SoundExchange, Peterson will be responsible for leading SoundExchange's internal and external communications, marketing and public relations efforts. Prior to SoundExchange, Peterson was with Live Nation Entertainment as the SVP of Corporate Communications. She worked as the strategic external communications director for Caesars Entertainment Corporation. She said, "SoundExchange is a great organisation at the nexus of music and technology. I look forward to helping SoundExchange build an even stronger brand – and to helping music creators secure their financial future.”

Commenting on the latest appointment, SoundExchange president and CEO Michael Huppe said, "Their collective experience in the music industry is immeasurable. Both have proven track records of strategic leadership and helping the industry succeed.

Huppe further said, "With these new additions, our team is stronger than ever and poised to achieve even greater success in 2015. Their knowledge and experience of the music industry will be invaluable to SoundExchange and we are thrilled to have them join our organisation."

The organisation collects statutory royalties on behalf of recording artists and master rights owners for the use of their content from satellite radio, Internet radio, cable TV music channels and other services that stream sound recordings. SoundExchange has paid out more than $2 billion in royalties since its inception.
