B.R.E.E.D to release remix album for 'Binate'

MUMBAI: Indo-American electronic music act B.R.E.E.D will release a remix album of its first chart-topping album called ‘Binate’, revealed one half of the duo, Ritesh D’souza. He also added that the release of the remix album will coincide with the release of B.R.E.E.D’s upcoming new singles.

D’souza said, “The popularity of the first album compelled us to release a remix album.” B.R.E.E.D’s first album ‘Binate’ was so popular in the US, that it topped on Addictech, one of the largest electronic music catalogues available in the American West Coast. The album also ranked at number two in the top five Glitch hob albums on Beatport, when it released in January 2014.

In addition to the first album, D’souza also said that there are plans to release a remix album of their last EP – ‘The Inside’, which was released last November. “Before we release the remix album of ‘Binate’ and ‘The Inside’ in the summer, we plan to release a few singles first. We are also planning to start shooting our upcoming music video for our track ‘Diamonds to Spare’. It is going to be a stop-motion music video,” stated D’souza.

The news comes right after B.R.E.E.D was announced as one of the Do Lab stage performers at this year’s Coachella Festival. Speaking about the Coachella development, D’souza responded, “We released ‘Binate’ through Muti Music in the US, and Muti Music is a huge underground music label in the West Coast. Soon after we released the album, it became a huge success there, and later when ‘The Inside' became popular, word spread and soon almost everyone on the West Coast started noticing B.R.E.E.D. After that, we got connected to the people at Coachella.”

“Before this, we played at the Burning Man in 2007; that was just a whole different experience. We were excited about performing at Coachella even before we were confirmed. We would check our mails daily. I still think it has not completely sunk in yet,” continued D’souza. After Coachella, B.R.E.E.D will also be performing at another West Coast music festival and at the Outlook Festival in Croatia, in September.

D’souza added that after Coachella, he will be touring as himself in May and with his partner, classically trained vocalist Tara Mae in July for a live tour. Come December, D’souza and Mae will start touring with a band that they are putting together for B.R.E.E.D
