MUMBAI: Xiaomi, the Chinese mobile manufacturer, announced its partnership with The Mobile Store India for the release of its Redmi Note 4G and Mi 4. The smartphones are available for sale at the official brick-and-mortar shops of The Mobile Store in India.
Xiaomi India CEO Manu Jain said, “This will be the first time that we are getting into offline trade in India. In China, about 20-30 per cent of total sales through come from telecom operators’ stores while the rest comes from our online store – Mi.com.”
Previously, the firm partnered with Inventec to manufacture its products in India itself. Xiaomi has announced that Taiwanese company- Inventec will provide the production facility to Xiaomi in Chennai and both partners will start production within the third quarter of this year.
The Mi4 16 GB features a 5-inch 1080p FHD IPS LCD and runs on MiUi6 based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat that is supported by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 SOC processor. Moreover, the processor is coupled with 3GB RAM and powered with a 3080 mAh of gigantic battery.
The device has an 8 megapixel front facing camera. For a decent photography experience the flagship device is packed with a 13 megapixel primary camera that aims at capturing high-quality images in daylight and supports low light photography as well. The camera also features LED Flash, Sony IMX214 BSI sensor and 4K video recording.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G runs on a quad-core 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU with 2GB RAM. It comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat and a 5.5-inch 720x1280-pixel IPS LCD screen. The device boasts a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and is powered with a 3100mAh battery.
The Redmi Note 4G and Mi 4 smartphones will be available with a price tag of Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 19,999, respectively.
