MUMBAI: The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) recently announced the promotion of Christine Pepe as business and legal affairs vice president. Previously, she held the role of business and legal affairs AVP.
Pepe will continue to look after the structuring and negotiation of a wide variety of licenses and other agreements on behalf of ASCAP. She will also provide legal and business support to The ASCAP Foundation and The ASCAP Legislative Fund for the Arts.
Elizabeth Matthews, CEO of ASCAP said, “Christine has been instrumental in ASCAP’s recent efforts to revamp its licensing practices, which has enabled ASCAP to more efficiently and effectively finalise agreements with licensees and provide them with broader, better defined rights. This promotion recognises her efforts and the valuable contribution Christine makes to ASCAP every day.”
In 2008, Pepe joined ASCAP as director of legal affairs. In the past she has worked with McDermott, Will & Emery at the New York Office and practiced copyright and entertainment law. She received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law and her Bachelor of Science from Boston College.
