Natya Tarangini, has been successfully spreading quality arts among its audience through the annually organized National Music and Dance festivals titled Parampara Series' for last ten years in Delhi. Today Natya Tarangini's name has become synonymous with this overwhelmingly successful festival series. In continuation of its efforts, in 2007 Natya Tarangini brought the Parampara series titled Andhri' for the first time in the city of Hyderabad .
Centuries ago, Bharatamuni described the characteristics of a madhyama graama janya jati' or Raaga called ANDHRI'. The dance style of this region was also mentioned by Bharatamuni in Natya Sastra. The raasa nrityam of the Andhra's was perhaps danced to the music set in the Andhra Jati (present day Kalyani). Thus ANDHRI' Raaga became the ancient Andhra's gift to the Bharata Sangeeta Music and Dance of India', which is why the organisers have given the title ANDHRI' to our Music and Dance Festival.
The world-renowned dancing couple, Padma Bhushans Raja and Radha Reddy along with daughters Yamini & Bhavana and disciples will perform a Kuchipudi Dance. Hindustani Vocalist Ashwini Bhide will also perform on 13th November at Ravindra Bharathi. Dancing Duo Nirupama & Rajendra will perform Kathak Dance and Padma Bhushan TN Seshagopalan Carnatic Vocal on 14th November. On the last day, on 15th November Dr. Neena Prasad will perform Mohiniattam Dance and as the finale there will be a scintillating Hindustani Flute recital by Padma Vibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia
In these difficult times, Arts especially Dance and Music bring peace and happiness to the people. Your support will be of great encouragement to our endeavors, appealed Raja and Radha Reddy in a press note issued in city today
