NEW DELHI: All India Radio (AIR) has created a mobile app for Android platform users, which will also shortly become available to other smartphone users.
The Mobile App can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, initiating the first phase of a pilot project of bringing the oldest broadcaster of India to the fastest moving technology.
AIR is available for free to Android users, and soon will be offered on Windows, iOS and other platforms as well. The app which was launched on 30 April will not only bring AIR to the more tech savvy generation, but will also reach the Indian Diaspora living abroad.
All India Radio is getting closer to the huge fan following and hopes to revive the golden era of "Yeh Akashvani hai".
To download the mobile app, Android users can simply search for 'All India Radio Live' on Google Play Store.
“We are pleased to share that very soon AIR Live Mobile App will be available for other platforms also. Our IT team is continuously at work and we hope to get connected through all mobile platforms shortly,” said AIR DG Fayyaz Sheheryar.
All India Radio has already launched several of its popular and regional channels for live streaming through the AIR website, making it easier to access varied radio content online.
