Mirchi improves lead margins in Delhi, Mumbai

MUMBAI: Week 48 was scarcely any different from preceding weeks as RAM data indicated nearly the same positions for all stations across the four major metros.

Radio Mirchi, leader in three markets, improved its lead in Delhi and Mumbai and continued to snap at the heels of leader Big FM in Bangalore.

Bangalore: Big FM lost its lead by 0.2 percentage points, ending the week with a share of 19.1, still managing to keep ahead of Radio Mirchi which lost 0.5 points and ended the week with a market share of 17.3 per cent. Fever at third position too lost 0.3 points to end with a share of 15.1 per cent, followed by Radio City which claimed a share of 11.9 per cent. AIR FM Rainbow was next with a share of 10.2 per cent, despite having lost 0.1 percentage point. Radio One was the significant gainer in the market, climbing up 1.8 points to end with a share of 9.7 per cent. Red FM too recorded a gain of 1.3 points and ended the week with a share of 8.6 per cent.

Delhi: Mirchi the leader climbed 0.5 points in the capital to end the week with a share of 25.2 per cent, while Fever lost 0.1 points to end the week at second position with a share of 18.8 per cent. AIR FM Gold too lost 1.4 points but held on to third position with a share of 15.5 per cent. Red FM gained a significant 0.9 points to end the week at fourth position with a share of 10 per cent of the market. Radio City and Big FM came next, each with a share of 7.3 and 7.1 per cent respectively. Radio One contended with a share of 6.4 per cent.

Kolkata: Radio Mirchi kept up its position without any gain or loss, with its market share at 19.5 per cent, ahead of Big FM which lost 0.7 points to end the week with a share of 16.5 per cent. Friends gained a significant 1.6 points to end with a share of 15 per cent, while Aamar was a distant fourth with a shar eof 10.8 per cent, despite having gained 0.4 points. Fever at fifth position, had a share of 7.6 per cent of the market, marginally ahead of Red FM which took home a 7.4 per cent share. Radio One and Meow FM each had shares of 5.8 and 5.5 per cent of the market.

Mumbai: Red FM took back its second place from usurper AIR FM Gold by climbing 0.6 points and taking home a share of 14.4 per cent of the market. Leader Mirchi kept up its lead, climbing 0.3 points and ending the week with a share of 18 per cent. AIR FM Gold tied with Radio City with a share of 12.4 per cent, while Big FM came close behind with a share of 11.7 per cent, despite having lost 0.2 points. Fever was close behind it with a share of 11.6 per cent, having climbed 0.3 percentage points. Radio One inched up 0.1 percentage point to end with a share of 6.3 per cent.
