NEW DELHI: Ansal University in Gurgaon has decided to implement music education as an integral part of academic learning of professional courses. For this purpose, it has tied up with Guitarmonk to use their 'Guitarmonk modules and curriculum'.
Guitarmonk sources told Radioandmusic.com that marks will be given in this module and will ultimately affect the overall result in the same way as participating in sports activities helps students. Thus learning music will add credits to Academic learning of professional students having opted for MBA, Hotel Management and other types of courses as Law, Engineering course etc.
Guitarmonk described this as 'a revolutionary step in academic excellence'.
Ace guitarist Kapil Srivastava, founder and CEO of Guitarmonk, was called for a guest music lecture on the first day and honoured with a memento.
Srivastava is a state awarded guitarist, author of six guitar books, exclusive jury and consultant to inter-college, inter-state music events (Delhi University, Amity and Ansal), and Music Ambassador to Brands DiGhent, and Tyacon.
He is also a composer for the Bollywood film 'Dubai Returns', which stars Irrfan Khan. He has been honoured by the government for his musical achievements and covered by international media.
