MUMBAI: 'Baadh Bhenge Dao', Big FM's Rabi Parbo concert took place with great zest and some beautiful sentiments today at G.D. Birla Sabhaghar in Kolkata. With both nations, India and Bangladesh sharing immense love for the works and art of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, talented music artists from both countries took centre-stage. Lopamudra Mitra and Rupankar Bagchi from Kolkata and renowned Bangladeshi artists Mita Huq and Lily Islam created a soul-stirring evening with the rendition of Gurudev’s timeless classics.
A one-of-a-kind musical treat, ‘Baadh Bhenge Dao’ was specially created for the fans of Rabindra Sangeet – songs that were written and composed by Rabindranath Tagore and characterised by their distinctive rendition while singing which includes a significant amount of ornamentation and are filled with expressions of romanticism.
Speaking on the occasion, Reliance Broadcast Network Limited, EVP and Business Head Ashwin Padmanabhan stated, “We have received tremendous response for the ‘Baadh Bhenge Dao’ music concert. We have always strived to be innovative, be it with our content, our on-ground initiatives or our associations and campaigns. Today, the brand Big FM is synonymous with innovation and novelty and that is what we have attempted to do for the great Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s birthday. There was no better way than to bring together two countries who share common love for the literary expert’s songs than an Indo-Bangla musical concert.”
As the crowd reveled in the beautiful music, it was clear that the nations although divided by boundaries, remained unified in their emotions for the art of music and indistinguishable culture, connected together by poet and humanitarian – Rabindranath Tagore.
‘Baadh Bhenge Dao’ saw a beautiful amalgamation of music artists from India and Bangladesh thus culminating BIG RABI PARBO, a month long radio campaign by Big FM Kolkata commemorating his 154th Birth Anniversary.
