MUMBAI: YouTube sensation Skylar Stecker has signed with Cherrytree Records/Interscope. As per the deal, the pop alternative label will release the singer/songwriter’s full-length debut album ‘This Is Me’ which will be available on 25 September.

The 13- year-old’s YouTube channel has over 25 million views, 90 videos and 280,000 subscribers. Along with covers, her channel has a few original tracks like ‘Rooftop’, ‘Firecracker’ and ‘Rascal’, among others.

Skylar Stecker said, "My new album ‘This Is Me’ embraces the pop urban sound that I love and truly reflects who I am as an artist and songwriter. I feel incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by this amazing team who allows me to be me." She further added, “I have been having so much fun making new music over the last year and to now have the opportunity to team up with Martin and Cherrytree/Interscope is a dream come true."

Commenting on signing Stecker, Cherrytree Music Company chairman Martin Kierszenbaum said, “Since the Cherrytree Music Company's inception in 2005, we have been drawn to label artists and management clients with singular voices and strong points of view.” Kierszenbaum added, “When I first met Skylar, I was immediately struck by her extraordinary vocal timbre, intonation and control. Her poise and talent for songwriting were just as remarkable. I don't think I could be more excited to welcome her to our boutique Cherrytree roster."

Earlier this year, Stecker self-released her EP ‘Firecracker’. She was selected by MTV Hits as ‘Fresh Faces of 2015’ music video block. The remix for ‘Rooftop,’ one of the songs featured on the EP, has been climbing the Billboard Dance Club Chart and is currently #16, and the music video for the beat-driven song has over 5 million views on YouTube.
