MUMBAI: Global digital music platform- 7digital has inked a multi-territory licensing agreement through African collection society and licensing agency CAPASSO (Composers, Authors and Publishers Association).The agreement with CAPASSO covers 40 countries in the region, and licensing for both, downloads and streaming.
Through the association, 7digital reiterated that it is committed to working with “international rights-holders to foster industry growth across all major and emerging markets.” This move will further strengthen the company and its association with clients based in North America, Europe, India, Australia, New Zealand, and regions in Latin America, The Middle East and Asia. This will help all 7digital partners to enter the African continent without hesitation.
“This licence agreement is a world-class deal that secures 7digital’s place among the pacesetters in digital musical licensing,” commented 7digital CEO Simon Cole.
Cole added, “It is a full repertoire blanket licence for forty countries, with a single point for reporting and invoicing – which ensures a simple procedure for managing rights.
