T-Series and Sonu Nigam bury hatchet; to launch single

MUMBAI: The long-time rift between Sonu Nigam and T-Series is no secret. Now, if sources are to be believed, the two giants in their own right have finally decided to bury the hatchet and start afresh.

According to information available with Radioandmusic.com, T- Series approached the ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ singer to launch a single and word is that Nigam agreed. The first offering post their reconciliation will be the release of a single called ‘Kya Batau,’ which has been sung by Nigam’s father, Agam Kumar Nigam. The 42-year old is all set to unveil his father’s track on 12 August, 2015.

Confirming the same, a source from the music company said, “Sonu started his career with T-Series, so it is always good to mend ways by forgetting the past and starting afresh. Besides that, Sonu is an artist that no one can miss out on, which is why we asked him to launch his father’s single under our label.”

Meanwhile, Sonu Nigam remained unavailable for comment.

Lately, T-Series has been active in the non-film space and has signed many artistes under its label.

Another source added, “It was T-Series that approached him to launch a single under them, which they are doing of late. There is no reason for him to refuse the same.”

Recently, the music company has also been approaching artists with contracts that are tailored according to their needs. T-Series approached Nigam with a customised contract too, which he seemed happy with. A source said, “The scene of contracts has changed. It is with a mutual consensus now.”

Agam Kumar Nigam, who has been a singer, previously launched an album, ‘Bewafaai’, in 2005. The album comprised eight songs and was released under T-Series then.
