MUMBAI: Operator of International airport-Dubai Airports is venturing into music business through a new initiative ‘musicDXB’ designed to connect the world through music. The initiative will have Katy Perry and Jack Pack, perform on 10 and 11 November respectively at Dubai airport.

On 11 November, ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ finalists Jack Pack will give an airport pop-up performance. They will be entertaining the airshow gala dinner guests with songs from their self titled album.

The initiative is about creating a platform at the airport which targets a multi-cultural and cosmopolitan audience of more than 79 million music lovers who pass through the world’s busiest international airport every year.

This will not be a one-off show but a platform for global superstars along with emerging international and up-and-coming local artists. It will be a lovely experience for the passengers passing through Dubai International who will be treated to exclusive live shows. The highlights of the experience can be enjoyed by netizens via social media platforms too.

We believe the two will work together in absolute harmony to engage and delight our customers in the airport and across our social media platforms. We are thrilled to launch the programme with such high profile superstars, but our goal is to also put the spotlight on up-and-coming talent from Dubai, the UAE and around the globe who have proven their passion and ability to entertain our growing fan base on the world’s largest stage.”

Local event management and music promotion firm-Done Events will partner with Dubai Airports to manage talent selection and the production of in-airport concerts conducted under the musicDXB banner.

The company is planning to run a social contest that will be giving away trips and tickets to the Dubai Airshow Gala dinner via the Dubai International Facebook page.

In the past, Dubai Airports’ Dubai Airshow crowds have been entertained by names like Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, Diana Ross, Michael Bolton, Tom Jones, and George Benson among others.
