MUMBAI: Micheal Jackson’s signature moonwalk may rest in history, but Warner Bros Television Group (WBTG) will bring back memories of the ‘King of Pop’ in a new TV series that will be based on his last days. The television group is currently in process of making a TV series, jointly produced by broadcaster, author and producer- Tavis Smiley.

WBTG issues a press release on the new development, and stated that the company and Smiley have entered into a multiyear deal for the same.

The deal will also witness a couple of Smiley’s books being adapted for a TV series including the upcoming ‘Before You Judge Me: The Triumph And Tragedy of Michael Jackson’s Last Days’. Set to release in 2016, the book will talk about the final 16 weeks in the life of the ‘Beat It’ singer. It will also feature the highs and the lows faced by the singer and his constant hunt for privacy.

‘Before You Judge Me: The Triumph And Tragedy of Michael Jackson’s Last Days’ will also talk about the pressures the King of Pop endured which made him socially fragile. The book will be published by Little, Brown and Co.

In the past, his documentary ‘This Is It’, which released in 2009, broke all the box office records. ‘My Journey with Maya’ based on poet, historian, filmmaker and civil rights activist Maya Angelou, while ‘Death of a King’ featured on Dr. Martin Luther King, are the other books which will be adapted to a TV series.
