MUMBAI: Smule, a developer of social music creativity apps, has launched Sing! Karaoke for Apple TV, the popular social singing app for iPhone and iPad, designed from the ground up for the new Apple TV. Sing! not only transforms Apple TV into a high-octane karaoke machine, it invites a world of singers into the home for lively duet sessions that span all genres of music. Sing! Karaoke by Smule for Apple TV is available now for free on the App Store for Apple TV.
"Apple TV brings fresh innovation into the living room and has inspired us to design a whole new Sing! experience that incorporates social connection into home entertainment," said Smule, Chief Product and Design Officer,Jeannie Yang. "Apple TV and the home is a new, exciting frontier for us. We can't wait for this to be in hands of users and see where this goes."
Sing! for Apple TV is not just the existing app for iPhone and iPad modified for the big screen, but an entirely new experience in social singing designed specifically for Apple TV and the living room. Sing! allows users to select individual songs, playlists or suggested themes, then virtually travel around the globe to find someone from the Smule community to sing with. Sing! even allows users to duet alongside celebrity Smule Partner Artists like Jason Derulo, Luke Bryan, Jessie J and many more. Sing! utilises Apple TV’s new Siri Remote with touch surface to allow users to scroll around a virtual earth in order to find singers to join for a selected song.
For a more immersive experience, users can download Sing! for iPhone and sync it with the app on Apple TV using Wi-Fi. The iPhone becomes a microphone with adjustable reverb and volume controls. Multiple iPhones can be synced to the Apple TV, allowing for two people to sing together and others to queue up songs to the party playlist. Singers can choose from a growing library of more than 100,000 songs, covering just about every genre and style of music.
Built upon the company’s vision to enable anyone to create, express and connect through music, the Smule platform and community have grown to roughly 25 million monthly active users, performing 10 million songs and uploading over two terabytes of content to Smule on a typical day.
