LG rolls out GT540 - android based smartphone

MUMBAI: LG Electronics, on of the innovators in communication technology has announced the launch of its latest smartphone LG GT540.

GT540 is the first mobile from the LG's upcoming smartphone series, LG Optimus. The phone is powered with Google's Android mobile operating system and has a three-inch resistive touchscreen with couple of touch sensitive keys for attending as well as ending calls and a home key in the center.

The features include onscreen QWERTY keypad with an option to change to standard alphanumeric phone keypad or use handwriting boxes. The gallery section has a 3D view set up that's user friendly 

GT540 also has FM radio and supports DivX and XviD video codecs, which allows the users to copy paste videos on the drive for instant playback without any conversion. The memory can be extended using micro SD cards 

The handset is available in the Indian market and is priced at Rs 12,990.
