Mirchi goes retro in 23 Hindi markets

MUMBAI: To sustain the reigning position it holds in most metro markets, Radio Mirchi is moving away from contemporary hits and embracing retro music. Radio Mirchi Delhi has introduced two new properties for retro music after experimenting in other 22 Hindi markets, beginning Tuesday. Mirchi has been leading in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata markets for the last 15 weeks, according to RAM data.

Lifetime award for Bhimsen Joshi

MUMBAI: The Delhi Government has decided to confer lifetime achievement awards on Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and late Habib Tanvir for rich contributions in their respective fields. The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday. The award carries an amount of Rs 1.1 million, a citation and a shawl. Joshi, a vocalist in Hindustani classical, is renowned for the Khayal form of singing as well as is his popular renditions of devotional music.

Sukhwinder to debut as Hindi film actor

Nickelodeon premieres Cosgrove's new music video Raining Sunshine

MUMBAI: Nickelodeon has premiered the music video for Raining Sunshine, the new song performed by Miranda Cosgrove for Sony Pictures Animation's upcoming 3-D animated feature Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs during the Emmy-nominated series iCarly. MTV takes Roadies to Africa for season 7

MUMBAI: MTV India has announced that the seventh season of its flagship cult reality show Roadies will be held in Africa. Roadies season seven comes with a tagline 7 Deadly Sins, 1 wild Safari.... The season will begin from Bhuj in Gujarat and will enter North Africa covering Egypt, Kenya and Tanzania. The channel has already taken contestants to Australia (for season six) and Thailand and Malaysia (in season five). MTV has called for auditions and the registration is closing on 16 September.
