Radio Mirchi Delhi has introduced two new properties for retro music after experimenting in other 22 Hindi markets, beginning Tuesday. MUMBAI: The Delhi Government has decided to confer lifetime achievement awards on Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and late Habib Tanvir for rich contributions in their respective fields. The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday. The award carries an amount of Rs 1.1 million, a citation and a shawl. Joshi, a vocalist in Hindustani classical, is renowned for the Khayal form of singing as well as is his popular renditions of devotional music.
