RAM Wk 8-11: Status quo in the metros despite the losses

MUMBAI: There were negligible shifts in the market share as per Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for the Week 8 to 11 (19-02-2012 to 17-03-2012). Radio City maintained its leadership position in Mumbai and Bangalore, Fever FM 104 ruled the capital and Radio Mirchi emerged as a clear market leader in Kolkata.

Mumbai: Radio City lost 0.2 points with a market share of 15.3%, slightly ahead of Radio Mirchi which also lost 0.2 points to end the week with a share of 15.2%. AIR FM2 maintained its third position in the city with a market share of 14.3% gaining 0.4 points.

Delhi: Fever FM consolidated its position in the capital with a market share of 18.6% despite a drop of 0.2 points. AIR FM2-Gold maintained its second spot and stayed neck to neck in the race with 18.5% share, albeit a loss of 0.2 points. Radio Mirchi lost one point but kept its third position, closing the week with a market share of 15.2%.

Bangalore: Radio City lost 0.7 points and still emerged as a clear market leader with a share of 26%. Mirchi dropped 0.6 points and claimed the second spot with a share of 21.7%, slightly ahead of Big FM which lost 0.2 points but retained its third position closing the week with a market share of 17.6%.

Kolkata: Mirchi continues to reign the city with a market share of 22.9% despite a loss of 1.1 points. Big FM lost 0.1 point but managed to grab the second spot with a market share of 16.8%. Friends FM remained unchanged closing the week with a share of 14.8%.
