HTC Legend launched in India

MUMBAI: After much anticipation, HTC has finally announced the availability of HTC Legend with Android Eclair 2.1 mobile operating system and HTC Sense experience, in India.

The Anaroid based handset has been designed from a single block of aluminum to transform into a sleek handset. It comes with a 3.2-inch OLED HVGA display. The trackball has now been fitted with an optical joystick alongside a narrow button to enhance functionality without compromising on the look and design of the phone. Underneath the unibody enclosure, the handset has a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM 7227 processor with 384MB RAM and 512MB ROM.

It sports a 5 MP autofocus camera with LED flash. The handset has quiet a few innovations like once it is picked up the ringer volume goes down on its own. It comes with a GPS antenna, Wi-Fi and 3.5G connectivity and an array of multimedia entertainment services. Users can easily transfer data files, music, pictures, etc through the Bluetooth function. Furthermore, with support from Adobe Flash player, users can enjoy games and videos with utmost clarity.

Music listeners should be at ease with 3.5mm audio jack allowing them to hook any pair of headphones to this phone. The smartphone has Stereo FM radio with RDS.

Packing 1300mAh Li-ion battery, HTC Legend gives talk time of up to 7 hours on 2G Networks and up to 6 hours 10 minutes on 3G networks.

The HTC Sense experience focuses on users interactions with their social world. For this, HTC has introduced a new application and widget called, Friend Stream that integrates social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and Flickr into an organized updates' flowchart. With a unified updates' page, it becomes much easier to keep a tab on what friends and family are up to. Moreover, Friend Stream allows categorization of contacts into groups such as friends, family, work, etc.

The Sense experience has also inculcated improvements in terms of applications like the browser, email client and others. It includes a newsreader application and widget, and a seven-screen �Leap' thumbnail view for fast and easy access to specific screens as well.

The handset is available for a price of Rs 25,990.
