One Direction named as UK's richest band

MUMBAI: Boy band One Direction has been declared as Britain's richest boy band with a combined wealth of ?25 million. One Direction, former contestants of ‘The X Factor’ UK, clinched the top slot at the Sunday Times Rich List 2013. The boy band pipped JLS band who took second position with a combined wealth of approximately ?24 million. Former Beatle Paul McCartney easily seized the top spot in the musician's category with ?680 million.

RSJ magazine is still valid in Internet age: Shomi Gupta

MUMBAI: Iconic rock magazine Rock Street Journal or ‘RSJ’ to its army of loyal readers still has relevance in the age of computers, internet and instant messaging, the magazine’s editor Shomi Gupta said. The magazine, the first of its kind, was founded in 1993 to cover the fledging rock music scene in the country. A little over two decades, it sells around 15,000 copies per issue and has a readership base of around 22,000.

Radio Mirchi celebrates 11 years with audiobook

AIR has proposed 132 new FM Radio stations over next two years

NEW DELHI: A total of 107 proposals/ requests including 18 from different states and union territories have been received for opening of All India Radio FM Radio Stations at 97 places during the last three years. A total of 32 FM transmitters are being considered under 12th Plan while 37 FM transmitters will be considered in future plans. Of the 107 proposals received from 2010 to 2013, 38 FM transmitters have already been approved or made functional.
