Radio Mirchi begins restructuring across stations

MUMBAI: After a stint of two years, Radio Mirchi sr vice-president, cluster head north Sachin Tagra has quit the organization. His last working day was Monday 22 April. Confirming the news with Radioandmusic.com, Tagra says, “ The journey at Mirchi was very fruitful  and interesting. I was very happy to work there. Frequency allocation delayed for community radio stations

MUMBAI: Information and Broadcasting (I&B) ministry has approved around 100 community radio stations but yet they are facing delay in allocation of frequencies. Wireless Planning and Coordination(WPC), under the department of telecommunication holds the power to allocate frequencies and renew the licenses of the existing CR stations but they have failed in delivering it for the past one year.

Sony Music congratulates 2013 Billboard Music Award nominees

With two albums released in 2012, One Direction received 10 nominations in 8 categories including Top Artist. Other nominees include Bruce Springsteen, Carrie Underwood, Casting Crowns, Chris Brown, Romeo Santos and Usher (with two nods each), plus Juan Magan (feat. ABBA to reunite? Museum opens 7 May

MUMBAI: Will the world get to be serenaded by Sweden’s global pop phenomenon ABBA again? Maybe.  Member of the legendary band Agnetha Faltskog, in an interview published by the German press has said she had not ruled out the possibility of reuniting the band's members for a concert. "Perhaps a charity concert? I, at least, would not rule it out," the singer said. Faltskog is promoting her new solo album, "A", whose title was inspired by the fact that she was "one of the 'As' in ABBA".

Britain's Got Talent slashes prize money by 50 per cent

MUMBAI: Prize of Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) has been slashed 50 percent for 2013 season of the popular talent competition. This year’s winner will only receive half the prize money that was on offer last year as ITV have reportedly slashed the winner's prize money from  ?500K to ?250K. The new series’ judge Simon Cowell is said to have put ?250,000 towards the ?500,000 winner's total upon his return to the panel last year, while it was ?100,000 previously. Other judges for the season are Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.
