MUMBAI: Singer-songwriter and producer Osho Jain to perform during World Music Day for Vh1 & MTV in collaboration with Loreal.

When was the moment you fell in love with music? Do you remember the song which played when you decided that you want to pursue music as a career?

When I was a kid, my father used to sing and play table. Music was in my family. I love anything and everything by Jagjit Singh and I think it was his music that pushed me into this career.

You will be performing on World Music Day for Vh1 & MTV in collaboration with Loreal, tell us more about the collaboration please and which songs can we expect you to perform to?

The collaboration is great. I have a history with MTV. I have interned with them and today being a part of one of their collaborations gives me immense pleasure. I have also written a couple of songs for 'Kaisi ye yaari.' I will be singing my original 'Tu aisa kaise hai.'

Why have you chosen these songs to perform to?

It is a very relatable song, one that people hear when they fall in love and so I chose this song.

What’s your advice to budding musicians?

Everyone is a budding artist as people keep learning. Be true to yourself and remain authentic so that you progress.

How do you draw the line between work and personal life? Do you disconnect from music or is it always a part of your life even when you’re not working?

I am very transparent. I am the same in my personal and professional life, so I have always found that time for myself. I do not struggle for that balance.

Where do you go to for inspiration?

I draw inspiration from reading. When I am super-stuck, I go out and play, do basic riyaaz and things work for me.

Since on-ground concerts are slowly rising, do you feel virtual concerts will still be in the business? Which do you prefer more, virtual or on ground concerts?

I love live crowd. I don't enjoy online concerts. The benefit of online concert is you get hybrid audience and that is very positive about it.

Tell us about a crazy fan moment you’ve had to deal with.

So, one time I was on a vacation in Jibhi, Himachal. A girl came to meet me at the property I was staying in and asked for me, but I was outside, so she waited the entire day to meet me. It felt good to see people showering love to you.
