PPC partners Radio City to promote 'Khuda Ke Liye' soundtrack

MUMBAI: Percept Picture Company (PPC) has partnered with Radio City to take the music of Khuda Ke Liye across the entire nation. The songs of this film can be heard from Thursday (13 March 2008) onwards on Radio City. "Radio City is our official radio partner and people can listen to the film's songs from Thursday onwards. Once the songs get promoted, listeners can listen to the songs across all radio stations nationwide," said PPC marketing head Nadish Bhatia to indiantelevision.com.The video promos of Khuda Ke Liye will launch on 16 March.

AIR not to cut down on number of radio stations

MUMBAI: Prasar Bharati has no proposal to reduce the number of All India Radio (AIR) stations. The information was given by information and broadcasting minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi in written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today. Prasar Bharati said that the number of AIR stations will not be reduced by setting up one powerful station for each State and thereby saving huge expenditure. Power consumption of a single powerful station is much more than that required by smaller stations to cover the populated area.

Sun TVs SFM to launch at Kannur

MUMBAI: Sun TV, through its subsidiary Kal Radio, is launching its FM station at Kannur on 12 March under the brand name SFM. With this launch, the network will have 25 stations all across the country.SFM is already operational Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Visakhapatnam, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Tirupati, Madurai, Tuticorin, Lucknow, Bhopal, Pondicherry, Kozhikode (Calicut), Indore, Vijayawada, Varanasi, Tiruchy, Rajahmundry, Kanpur, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Mangalore The company will launch 20 more stations to complete 45 stations in India.

Mogae-MCM to launch radio in malls

MUMBAI: Mogae, the investment vehicle of Sandeep and Tanya Goyal who own 26 per cent equity in the Dentsu joint-ventures in India, have partnered with US based MCM (Music Content Management) in a 50:50 joint-venture to launch 'mall or retail-radio' in the country. The concept of 'mall or retail-radio' venture promoted by Mogae-MCM will be commercially launched in the next six weeks. The company has already launched test installations at various retail chains and malls in Mumbai and Delhi.
