MUMBAI: Noted music director Ravi has been chosen for the Devarajan Memorial Music award, in recognition of his contribution to Indian film music, says a PTI report. Instituted in the memory of veteran Malayalam music director G Devarajan, the award carries a cash prize of Rs 80,000, a citation and a memento from the Kerala-based cultural forum Swaralaya. Ravi was selected for the honour by a seven-member jury headed by state Culture Minister M A Baby.

MTV Networks music and logo group president Van Toffler will take on the day-to-day operations indefinitely while maintaining his group role. In an internal memo, Toffler announces Norman's decision "to take the time to explore something new." Norman was elevated to the post of president in 2005 after serving in the same role at VH1. She joined the company in 1991 as a production manager at MTV.
