RAM rolls out in Kolkata

MUMBAI: Kolkata became the fourth metro in the country to have TAM's Radio Audience Measurement services on Thursday. RAM, the service launched jointly by IMRB and Nielsen Media Research, itself completes a year of operation this July, having already rolled out the radio monitoring service in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore in September 2007.

Natasha Bedingfield partners LG for VH1 Save The Music Foundation

MUMBAI: LG Electronics Mobile in the US and the VH1 Save The Music Foundation have announced a partnership with Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Natasha Bedingfield. Bedingfield is donating a live version of her song Angel, off her sophomore release, Pocketful Of Sunshine, to create an exclusive ringtone to benefit the foundation. The ringtone can be purchased for $2.99 and will be available beginning 16 July, through 28 September at save.vh1.com.

Pakistani musicians join hands for anti terror campaign

MUMBAI: 'Yeh Hum Naheen' a non-profit foundation has brought together leading Pakistani artistes to initiate the world's biggest anti-terror campaign. The campaign has been launched to motivate all Pakistanis to sign a petition against terrorism and help project the true image of Islam in the world. Singers like Shakeel, Zeba Bakhtiar, Nauman Ejaz, Samina and Usman Pirzada along with other popular TV and film stars and leading singers have expressed their commitment to the anti-terrorism cause, says a report in Pakistan's The News.

MUMBAI: Synergy Media's radio station My FM has rebranded itself with a new campaign - 'Jiyo Dil Se!', that targets youth and plans to deepen the bond with its listeners with a slew of youthful promos, segments and jingles. The new theme campaign is tagged Tension Naa Lene kaa...Naa Dene kaa.Jiyo Dil Se!, derived from its earlier tagline - 'Dil Se'. The station has also given itself a new logo.

Virgin Radio ropes in Chris Lawson as brand director

MUMBAI: Chris Lawson, digital marketing director at Bauer Consumer Media, has been roped in as brand director at Virgin Radio, responsible for developing the station's marketing strategy and its digital business. The rock music station will be relaunched under a new name this autumn after its ?53m sale to Times of India subsidiary TIML and UK-based radio owner and consultancy Absolute Radio. Virgin Radio was previously owned by SMG, says a report in the Guardian.
