Mirchi Delhi launches 'Fachcha Khush Hua' campaign

MUMBAI: Capitalising on the college admission chaos in the nation's capital, Delhi's Radio Mirchi has announced the 'Fachcha Khush Hua' initiative. Fachcha stands for 'freshers' in Delhi lingo. The initiative started early this week to celebrate the spirit of freedom and masti for the young adults. The campaign will kickstart with an on- air promotion in which RJs will be inviting freshers to participate. They will also give some useful tips and advice along with advices on what should be practised and what should not be done, as per campus rules.

SFM launches in Pune

MUMBAI: Sun TV Network's SFM launched in Pune on Tuesday, marking the entry of the last of its FM stations in Maharashtra. Radio Mirchi, Radio City and Radio One are already operational in the city. SFM would play a mix of Hindi and Marathi music. The station plans to create awareness through a press conference, outdoor hoardings, print and television ads. Another way of making its impact felt in Pune, would be gifting gold and silver coins to listeners, who would tune in to SFM and participate in the various contests.

T-Series buries feud, allows IMI to collect performance fees

MUMBAI: T-Series, the flagship music label of the Bhushan Kumar led Super Cassettes Industries has officially allowed the IMI's licensing arms - The Indian Performing Right Society (IPRS) and the Phonographic performance Ltd. (PPL) - to collect the public performance licence fees on its behalf.

MTV launches online soundtrack guide

MUMBAI: MTV in US has launched an online interactive music guide for TV called Soundtrack.mtv.com with an aim to showcase everything about the music and artists being played on MTV. Soundtrack.mtv.com,which is integrated into MTV's programming, invites viewers to go through the music line-up from both established and upcoming artists. It also provides a catalog of corresponding content including music videos, performances, personal blogs and photos.

Beatport, Buma/Stemra sign license deal for authors' rights

MUMBAI: US headquartered online electronic music retailer Beatport has signed a licence agreement for authors' rights with music copyright organisation Buma/Stemra covering all of the world's music repertoire. The license applies throughout the European Union, and the license model offered by Buma/Stemra provides online music service providers with a one-stop shop for authors' rights for music for 27 European countries, says a company release.

RJ Prateek quits Fever's Delhi station, joins Network 18

MUMBAI: RJ Prateek, the host of countdown show Fever Hot 20 Countdown on Delhi's Fever FM has quit the radio station. Prateek's last show on air for Fever was his 8 pm to 12am midnight slot on 19 July. Talking about his association with Fever, Prateek says, "It was two years ago that I joined Fever FM and it's been fantastic. I got to learn an absolutely new format of radio, which was very new for the Indian radio industry."
